Virtus.pro Secures Thunderpick World Championship Spot, Enters VRS Top 30

Virtus.pro has secured a place in the Thunderpick World Championship, a prestigious LAN event with a $1,000,000 prize pool set to take place in Malta from October 14-18. This qualification comes after a challenging journey through the Closed Qualifier, where the team demonstrated resilience and skill.

The journey began on a rocky note for Virtus.pro, as they faced an initial defeat against K27. However, the team quickly rebounded by defeating BESTIA and avenging their earlier loss to K27, which propelled them into the playoffs. In the playoff stage, Virtus.pro showcased their strength by overcoming notable opponents including FOKUS, HEROIC, and HOTU, culminating in a decisive victory in the final match of the qualifier.

This upcoming event will mark Virtus.pro's first major international LAN appearance since IEM Chengdu 2025. The team has been on an upward trajectory since revamping their roster, which now includes four members from their former academy team. This strategic shift has revitalized the organization, allowing them to reclaim their competitive edge.

Prior to their recent successes, Virtus.pro had plummeted below the 100th position in the VRS rankings and had not participated in any official matches on HLTV. Their return to form began in May with a championship win at MPKBK CIS LAN Season 5, followed by a series of strong performances, including a runner-up finish at MPKBK CIS LAN Season 6 and a playoff appearance at the ESL Challenger League Season 52 Europe Cup 5.

The combination of their recent achievements and their performance in the Thunderpick qualifier has propelled Virtus.pro into the top 30 of the VRS rankings, giving them a slim chance to qualify for the PGL Major in Singapore.
