Aidil Sholeh Claims First Super 100 Title at Vietnam Open

In a remarkable display of skill, Malaysia's Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin clinched his first Super 100 title at the Vietnam Open, defeating top seed Jason Teh Jia Heng of Singapore in straight games. The match concluded with scores of 21-16 and 21-14, marking a significant victory for Aidil, who is currently ranked world No. 91.

This triumph not only represents Aidil's first title at the Super 100 level but also gives Malaysia its first men’s singles championship of the World Tour season. Throughout the tournament, Aidil showcased his talent by overcoming several formidable opponents, including a quarterfinal win against China's Dong Tian Yao and a semifinal comeback against Japan's Minoru Koga.

In the women's singles, Thailand's Sarunrak Vitidsarn emerged victorious, defeating India's Isharani Baruah, the third seed, with a commanding performance that ended 21-8, 21-15. Sarunrak, who is the younger sister of former men's singles world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn, is steadily making a name for herself in international badminton, having previously won a bronze at the 2024 BWF World Junior Championships.

The Vietnam Open also featured strong performances in doubles, with Chinese Taipei's Chen Zhi Ray and Lin Yu Chieh winning the men's doubles title against Singapore's Terry Hee Yong Kai and Howin Wong Jia Hao. In women's doubles, South Korea's Kim Yu Jung and Lee Yu Lim triumphed in a tightly contested final against China's Liu Jia Yue and Wang Zi Meng, showcasing the competitive spirit of the tournament.
