Mets Prospects Shine in Minor League Action

In a recent showcase of talent, several of the New York Mets' top prospects made headlines during minor league play. Emilien Pitre, playing for Syracuse, recorded his first home run at the Triple-A level, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs. His solo shot in the seventh inning tied the game at 7-7, although Syracuse ultimately fell to their opponents 14-9 after allowing seven runs in the eighth.

Pitre, who joined the Mets from Tampa Bay in a trade involving Freddy Peralta, has shown promise in his 13 games with Syracuse, boasting a .277 batting average along with a .346 on-base percentage and a .426 slugging percentage. However, he faced a setback after being picked off first base shortly after reaching on an error.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Rojas, the Mets' newly minted top prospect, continued his strong performance with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. He hit his 23rd home run of the season, contributing to a solid 1-for-4 day at the plate. Since joining the Mets from the Chicago Cubs, Rojas has made a significant impact, hitting .260 with an impressive .891 OPS over 25 games.

The Brooklyn Cyclones have also seen bright spots, particularly from recent draftee, Robbins. Promoted from Low-A St. Lucie, Robbins went 2-for-5, raising his batting average to .316 in six games with the Cyclones. Overall, he has a .281 average and five home runs in his inaugural professional season.

First-round pick Houck, despite a challenging season, made an impact by hitting a two-run homer that initially gave Brooklyn a 3-2 lead in their game. Over 98 games, he has struggled with a .208 average but has managed to hit nine home runs and drive in 40 runs as he seeks to adjust to the competition.
