Gauff Advances, Mixed Results for American Players at US Open

Coco Gauff has successfully advanced to the fourth round of the US Open, showcasing her skills with a victory over Spain's Cristina Bucsa, winning 6-3, 6-4. This marks Gauff's 19th appearance in the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament, continuing her strong performance at this year's event.

While Gauff celebrated her progress, fellow Americans Amanda Anisimova and Madison Keys faced disappointing exits. Anisimova, the runner-up from last year, was eliminated in straight sets, while Keys, despite leading 5-0 in the third set against China's Zheng Qinwen, expressed feeling "scared" as she ultimately lost the match.

Despite the mixed outcomes, five American women remain in contention for the title, including Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Taylor Townsend, Emma Navarro, and Iva Jovic, who secured her spot later in the day. The men's draw also features strong American representation, with Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, and Alex Michelsen advancing, and Learner Tien still to play.

Gauff, who became the first American teenager to win the US Open since Serena Williams in 1999, has shown resilience throughout the tournament.
