MOUZ Advances to BLAST Open Porto Finals After Defeating Vitality
9 days agoMOUZ has clinched a place in the grand finals of the BLAST Open Porto after a commanding victory over Vitality, winning both maps in the series: Dust2 (13-11) and Mirage (13-7). This win marks a significant turnaround for MOUZ, who had faced a challenging 2-12 record against Vitality in their previous encounters, with their last victory against them occurring nearly a year ago.
The match showcased MOUZ's ability to capitalize on Vitality's weakened lineup, as they played with Justinas "jL" Lekavicius as a stand-in. MOUZ's strategic gameplay, led by Dorian "xertioN" Berman, effectively exploited Vitality's vulnerabilities, particularly on Dust2 where they managed to establish an early lead despite a shaky start.
On Dust2, MOUZ quickly converted a pistol round into a 4-0 lead, although Vitality briefly rallied to tie the game at 10-10. However, MOUZ regained control with a series of successful B hits, ultimately securing the map 13-11. The second map, Mirage, saw Vitality initially take the lead, but MOUZ responded with aggressive plays that shifted the momentum, leading to a 7-5 halftime score in their favor.
In the second half of Mirage, MOUZ maintained their dominance, thwarting Vitality's attempts to mount a comeback. Despite a standout performance from Vitality's Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, MOUZ's cohesive teamwork and tactical prowess proved too strong, allowing them to seal the match and advance to the finals against Spirit, the team they previously defeated to claim their first trophy of the season.
