A unique autographed card featuring basketball legends LeBron James and Kobe Bryant has entered the auction scene after being hidden away in a private collection for almost 20 years. The card, part of the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection, was recently graded by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) and received a score of 8 on a 1-10 scale.

According to Brendan Kirbach, a senior account executive at Alt, the card remained ungraded and unknown to the public until it was sold to its current owner. This card is particularly notable as it belongs to the same set as a one-of-one Dual Logoman card featuring Bryant and Michael Jordan, which fetched a record $12.93 million at auction last year, making it the most expensive sports card ever sold.

While there is no pre-sale estimate for the Kobe-LeBron card, it is considered one of the most valuable cards graded by PSA this year. The significance of the 2007-08 season adds to its allure, as Bryant won his only NBA MVP award that year, while James claimed his first scoring title, averaging 30 points per game.

The auction for the Kobe-LeBron card commenced on Friday, with initial bids quickly surpassing $2 million. The auction is set to continue until September 24, raising speculation about whether this card could break the previous sales record.
