Falcons Defeat G2 to Reach BLAST Open Porto Semi-Finals

The Falcons have successfully progressed to the semi-finals of the BLAST Open Porto after a dominant 2-0 win against G2. This victory marks the fourth consecutive defeat for G2 against the Falcons since Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov joined their roster.

In the upcoming semi-finals, the Falcons will face Spirit in a highly anticipated rematch from the IEM Cologne Major, where they triumphed after two overtime victories. G2, on the other hand, continues to struggle, having not finished in the top four at a major event for nearly a year since their BLAST Open London win last September.

The Falcons displayed a revitalized performance, particularly after a shaky group stage where they narrowly defeated Lynn Vision but suffered a heavy loss to MOUZ. Against G2, they started strong, dominating the first map, Inferno, with an impressive 11-1 score on the CT side.

René "TeSeS" Madsen initiated the onslaught with a solid anti-force round, while m0NESY, Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin, and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač contributed key multi-kills that stifled G2's attempts to gain momentum. NiKo's remarkable quad-kill further solidified G2's struggles, leaving them unable to recover despite Matúš "MATYS" Šimko's efforts in the second half.

Moving to Dust2, kyousuke continued to shine, creating significant openings that allowed the Falcons to maintain their lead. Although Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač made valiant attempts to keep G2 competitive with impressive plays, it was ultimately in vain as the Falcons secured their match point and closed out the series shortly after.
