Spirit's zont1x: Team Improvement Still Needed Despite Group Stage Success

Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia, a key player for Team Spirit, has expressed that despite the team's flawless performance in the group stage of the BLAST Open Porto, there are still areas that require attention. Spirit triumphed over DENDELE, G2, and FURIA without losing a single map, yet zont1x insists that the team is not at its peak.

In an interview with HLTV, zont1x highlighted that not all players are in optimal form, and the team continues to face various challenges. He noted, "If we manage to fix the problems we encountered in the group stage, we should be able to play fine here as well."

One specific concern is Spirit's performance on the map Cache, which they struggled with during the Esports World Cup. However, the team has since practiced extensively on this map, leading to improved results. Zont1x remarked on the learning curve associated with newer maps, stating, "After some practice, we managed to find the way we want to play it."

As discussions swirl around which team currently holds the title of the best in the world, zont1x remains cautious. He pointed out that while Spirit has had strong placements in recent tournaments, they have also faced defeats against teams like JiJieHao and MOUZ. He believes that the focus should be on tournament outcomes rather than subjective rankings, saying, "Just watch who is winning the tournaments and then you can decide."

With the playoffs approaching, zont1x's focus is clearly on refining the team's strategy and performance, rather than getting caught up in the debate over rankings. He remains optimistic about Spirit's potential if they can address their ongoing issues.
