Felix Auger-Aliassime, the third seed at the US Open, faced an unexpected setback in the second round as he was defeated by unseeded Russian player Karen Khachanov. The Canadian, a two-time semi-finalist at this tournament, lost with a scoreline of 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

After the match, Auger-Aliassime revealed that he experienced dizziness and visual disturbances, stating, "I was dizzy and seeing spots". He mentioned feeling unwell early in the match and was unable to recover, which significantly impacted his performance on the court.
