Top NBA Free Agents Still on the Market Ahead of 2026-27 Season

With training camps nearing, a number of former NBA All-Stars are still available as free agents. Among them, Victor Oladipo has taken a proactive approach by publishing an open letter in The Players Tribune, expressing his readiness to return to the league after battling significant injuries.

Oladipo, who was selected as the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, has not played since suffering a torn patellar tendon in April 2023 while with the Miami Heat. His career has been marred by injuries, including a ruptured quadriceps in 2019, limiting him to just 42 games or fewer in recent seasons. Despite these challenges, he believes he can still contribute meaningfully to an NBA team.

Several other notable players remain unsigned as the 2026-27 season approaches. The Detroit Pistons' 22-year-old restricted free agent has until October 1 to accept a qualifying offer or negotiate a multi-year deal. Meanwhile, former No. 1 pick from the 2016 Draft is aiming for a comeback after sitting out last season.

Veteran Kevin Love, who spent last season mentoring with the Utah Jazz, could still find a role with a contender as a floor-spacing big man. Additionally, players like Bruce Brown and Nicolas Batum are also searching for new teams, with Batum expressing a desire to stay in the NBA despite speculation about a potential overseas move.

As teams finalize their rosters, these free agents will be looking for opportunities to prove their value and secure a spot in the league.
