76ers Add Tacko Fall and Jameer Nelson Jr. for Training Camp
13 days agoThe Philadelphia 76ers have made headlines by signing Tacko Fall, Jameer Nelson Jr., and Saint Thomas to training camp contracts, as announced on Wednesday. These contracts are classified as Exhibit 10 deals, which offer players a bonus of up to $85,000 if they join the team's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
Tacko Fall, a towering 7'6" center, previously played for the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers before spending time overseas. He has not been in the NBA since 2022 but made a splash during the NBA All-Star Friday Night Celebrity Game in Los Angeles last February.
Jameer Nelson Jr., the son of former NBA player and current 76ers Executive Vice President Jameer Nelson, has experience in the league's training camps. He was with the San Antonio Spurs two years ago and played for the Sacramento Kings' G League affiliate last season, where he averaged 19.9 points and 3.7 assists per game.
Saint Thomas, a 6'7" wing, also returns to the 76ers after participating in training camp last season. He averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds per game while with the Blue Coats.
While the 76ers currently have 14 players under contract for the upcoming season, they have one open two-way contract spot available. This could provide an opportunity for one of the new signings to secure a spot with the team if they impress during training camp.
