Angel Reese Ties WNBA Record for Double-Doubles in a Single Season

Angel Reese continues to make waves in the WNBA, recently tying Alyssa Thomas for the most double-doubles in a single season with her 28th performance. The Atlanta Dream forward achieved this milestone during a home game, where she recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Earlier this week, Reese set new records for single-game and single-season rebounding, pulling down an impressive 26 boards in a victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. The 24-year-old, who is in her first season with the Dream after a trade from the Chicago Sky, is averaging over 16 points and leads the league with 12.4 rebounds per game.

Thomas, a six-time All-Star playing for the Connecticut Sun, achieved her 28 double-doubles this season while also recording multiple games with double-digit points and assists, including six triple-doubles throughout her career.

Reese's double-doubles have all come from scoring at least 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, with several performances also showcasing her passing ability, as she recorded at least five assists in four of those games. Notably, she nearly achieved a triple-double last week, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists against the Sparks.

In a standout performance last Saturday, Reese scored a career-high 31 points, leading the Dream to a victory against the Phoenix Mercury and securing a playoff berth for her team. This marks a significant turnaround for Reese, who is set to make her postseason debut after two seasons without playoff action with the Sky.
