Arthur Fery Advances to Winston-Salem Semi-Finals with Comeback Win

Arthur Fery of Great Britain staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Aleksandar Kovacevic and secure his place in the semi-finals of the Winston-Salem Open. The fourth seed overcame a first-set loss, winning the match with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in North Carolina.

Fery demonstrated resilience by winning five consecutive games from 5-5 in the second set, ultimately breaking Kovacevic to take the set. He then surged ahead in the third set, establishing a 3-0 lead before serving out the match, marking his first semi-final appearance since Wimbledon in July.

In the semi-finals, Fery will face Australian James Duckworth, who advanced after defeating Hungarian 15th seed Fabian Marozsan in a closely contested match. Fery previously triumphed over Duckworth in Cincinnati earlier this month, setting up an intriguing rematch.

Fery's impressive run at Wimbledon this summer propelled him into the ATP top 40, where he currently ranks 37th. This achievement also earned him a spot in the upcoming US Open, although he narrowly missed being seeded and will face 13th seed Lorenzo Musetti in the first round.
