Gill Stands by India's Follow-On Strategy Despite Mixed Results

Shubman Gill has come forward to defend India's decision to implement the follow-on strategy during their recent match, despite the team only managing to secure three wickets on the final day.

Entering the last day of play, India was in pursuit of four wickets to clinch victory. However, the pitch at the SSC did not show significant deterioration, making it challenging for the bowlers.

None of the wickets taken by India were through lbw or bowled dismissals, which raised questions about the effectiveness of their approach. Gill, however, remains confident that the strategy did not backfire and believes it was the right call in the context of the game.
