Ninjas in Pyjamas Seek New IGL as Snappi Steps Down

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) are actively searching for a new in-game leader (IGL) to succeed Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, who is set to depart the team following a series of inconsistent performances. Sources indicate that the decision to part ways was mutual, with Snappi expressing willingness to transition to a different role within the esports scene.

The organization is also considering options to fill the gap left by Artem "cairne" Mushynskyi, who was benched in June. Currently, academy player Roman "n0te" Hamze has been filling in on a temporary basis since then. Furthermore, NIP's attempt to acquire Linus "LNZ" Holtäng from MIBR was reportedly rejected.

Ninjas in Pyjamas find themselves ranked 20th in the Europe VRS and have no upcoming invitations to tier-1 events. Their recent performance at the Esports World Cup saw them finish in the 17th-24th range after facing losses against Legacy and Astralis, despite a victory over BetBoom. The team has struggled in various competitions, with finishes ranging from 12th-14th at XSE Pro League to 3rd-4th in the closed qualifier for StarSeries Fall.

Snappi joined NIP in January 2025, leading the team through several notable tournaments, including a grand final appearance at StarSeries Fall 2025 and a top-12 finish at IEM Cologne 2025. NIP is scheduled to compete next at the Logitech G Play Connect tournament in Warsaw from September 17-23, as well as the ROG Journey Autumn event in early October. The organization has not commented on the situation regarding Snappi.
