Warriors Add Georges Niang and Brandon Williams on One-Year Deals

The Golden State Warriors have made two significant additions to their roster by signing point guard Brandon Williams and forward Georges Niang to one-year contracts. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Williams will earn $2.6 million, while Niang's deal is worth $3.9 million.

Brandon Williams, who stands at 6-foot-1, had a breakout season with the Dallas Mavericks in 2025-26, averaging 13 points and 3.9 assists over 66 games. Known for his scoring ability, he previously played for the Portland Trail Blazers, where he averaged 12.9 points in 2021-22. Williams is expected to provide a spark off the bench for the Warriors, a role he is well-acquainted with.

Georges Niang, a seasoned NBA player, has a career average of 7.4 points per game across 544 appearances. Although he missed the entire 2025-26 season due to injury, he is recognized for his 3-point shooting prowess, boasting a career shooting percentage of 40% from beyond the arc. Niang's experience with various teams, including the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers, adds veteran leadership to the Warriors' roster.

Both players are expected to fit well into the Warriors' system. Williams has a history of strong performances against Golden State, including a standout game where he scored 26 points on Christmas Day 2025. Meanwhile, Niang's familiarity with the Warriors' G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, may help him integrate smoothly into the team.
