Brandon Williams Joins Golden State Warriors on One-Year Deal

Brandon Williams has officially signed a one-year contract worth $2.6 million with the Golden State Warriors, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania. This move brings the former Arizona Wildcats point guard back to California after a successful season with the Dallas Mavericks.

In the previous season, Williams had a career year, averaging 13 points and 3.9 assists in 22 minutes per game over 66 appearances with Dallas. This performance marked a significant improvement after spending his first two professional seasons on two-way contracts.

The 26-year-old player began his NBA journey with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021 after going undrafted. His college career at Arizona was marred by a knee injury that sidelined him for his sophomore year, but he has since made a strong return to the court.

Now, Williams will compete for the backup point guard position behind Stephen Curry, facing off against De'Anthony Melton. His addition is part of the Warriors' effort to strengthen their roster as they look to rebound from recent struggles.
