In addition to Bellinger's return, Jazz Chisholm Jr. contributed to the Yankees' offensive effort with a two-out home run that scored Bellinger, extending New York's lead. Bellinger has been performing well this season, currently slashing .259/.349/.418 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs through 103 games.

Carlos Rodón also continued his comeback from injury, pitching four innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits while striking out two batters. After his second start since returning from the injured list, Rodón acknowledged the need for improvement, particularly in his command and ability to throw strikes consistently.
