Chaney Johnson Praises Nolan Traoré's Development Ahead of Training Camp
22 days agoBrooklyn Nets forward Chaney Johnson recently shared insights on teammate Nolan Traoré's progress during an appearance on "The Brooklyn Boys Show." Johnson noted that Traoré, who missed the Summer League due to a knee procedure, has made significant strides since their last game together in April.
Johnson emphasized Traoré's physical transformation, stating, "Honestly, I’m going to have to say Nolan. All the guys have improved, but I feel like Nolan … he’s a different guy now." He pointed out Traoré's increased strength and muscle mass, which he believes will enhance the guard's performance in his second NBA season.
Despite not participating in Summer League, Traoré has been active in the gym, working on his fitness and skills. After a promising finish to his rookie year, where he averaged over 11 points and four assists in the final 31 games, Traoré's offseason efforts suggest he is poised for a breakout year.
Johnson also praised his other teammates, recognizing their improvements. He mentioned that players like Drake and Danny have shown increased strength and mobility, while veterans Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle will add much-needed toughness to the team.
As for Johnson, he is looking to solidify his position within the team after a successful Summer League performance, where he averaged 13.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and led in steals. Currently on a two-way contract, he aims to secure a standard NBA deal with the Nets.
