MIBR's Insani Weighs Future Amid Contract Extension Talks

MIBR's CEO, Alexandre "Kakavel" Peres, has revealed that Felipe "insani" Yuji is contemplating his future with the Brazilian esports organization as he approaches the end of his contract. The 22-year-old player, regarded as one of Brazil's top talents, has yet to secure a significant trophy since his promotion from MIBR's academy nearly four years ago.

With insani's contract set to expire in December, MIBR has initiated discussions regarding an extension. Kakavel emphasized insani's value to the team, stating that he has expressed a desire to remain with MIBR but is still uncertain about his long-term goals. "He has a good offer from us on the table; he's thinking it over," Kakavel noted, adding that they plan to revisit talks soon.

Despite the hope of retaining insani, Kakavel acknowledged the possibility of preparing for a future without him. He mentioned that MIBR is already strategizing on how to adjust the roster should insani decide to leave. "We’re going to do everything possible to keep him with us," he said, while also confirming that they have a contingency plan in place.

MIBR faces the risk of losing insani without compensation at the end of the season, but Kakavel dismissed the idea of trading him during the summer. He argued that insani's contributions to the team outweigh any potential financial gain from a sale, stating, "Keeping him on the team is cheaper than the money people are offering me for him right now."

MIBR, who recently finished 17th-24th in the Esports World Cup, will look to rebound in the upcoming closed qualifier for IEM Beijing, scheduled for September 2-4.
