Aaron Holiday Signs with Maxima Roma in Italy, Leaving Rockets Behind

Aaron Holiday, known for his dependable play and strong locker-room presence, has signed with Maxima Roma in Italy's top basketball league. After three seasons with the Houston Rockets, Holiday's move comes as he seeks more playing time, especially with increased competition in the Rockets' backcourt this season.

During his tenure with the Rockets, Holiday played a key role despite not being a starter, averaging 16.3 minutes, 6.6 points, and 1.8 assists per game in his first season. His ability to step up in crucial moments made him a valuable asset for head coach Ime Udoka, particularly when injuries affected the team's lineup.

Holiday's departure follows the addition of Fred VanVleet and Marcus Smart to the Rockets, along with the emergence of young talent Reed Sheppard, which limited his opportunities. Despite his exit from the NBA for now, Holiday has not ruled out a return, as several teams expressed interest in him during the offseason.
