The Mariners wasted no time in taking control of the game, scoring four runs in the first inning. Brendan Donovan and Randy Arozarena opened the game with back-to-back singles, setting the stage for Dominic Canzone, who delivered an RBI double. After loading the bases, Taylor Ward's single brought in two more runs, giving Seattle an early 4-0 lead.

In the second inning, the Mariners continued to build on their advantage. Donovan again reached base, followed by Arozarena being hit by a pitch. Canzone's single loaded the bases once more, and Julio Rodríguez's sacrifice fly added another run.
