Nets Owner Joe Tsai Acknowledges Rivalry After Knicks' Championship Win

Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai has voiced his displeasure regarding the New York Knicks winning the championship this season. In a recent statement to NetsDaily, Tsai acknowledged the impact of the Knicks' success on the Nets' fan base, describing it as irritating and embarrassing.

Despite the disappointment, Tsai emphasized that the Nets will not let this setback alter their plans. He stated, "We had a plan and we’re rebuilding, and I think right now we are on a positive trajectory. So it doesn’t change my thinking at all."

The Nets are coming off a challenging season, finishing with a 20-62 record, which was among the worst in the league. This performance secured them the No. 6 pick in the draft, where they selected point guard Mikal Brown. Additionally, last year's No. 8 pick, Egor Dёmin, has shown promising potential during the Summer League.

In an effort to strengthen the roster, the Nets acquired power forward Julius Randle from Minnesota as part of a four-team trade. Randle, who averaged over 21 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game last season, is expected to enhance the team's performance as they continue their rebuilding process.

While the Nets are focused on their development, Tsai believes that comparisons to the Knicks should not influence their strategy moving forward. The Brooklyn franchise remains committed to its long-term goals, aiming to build a competitive team in the Eastern Conference.
