Graeme Dott Faces Trial on Child Abuse Charges in Glasgow

Graeme Dott, a former world snooker champion, has begun his trial at the High Court in Glasgow, facing serious allegations of child sexual abuse. The charges involve lewd behavior towards a girl and a boy, with incidents reportedly occurring between 1993 and 2010.

Dott, who secured the world title in 2006, is accused of multiple instances of inappropriate conduct at various locations, including Glasgow's east end and South Lanarkshire. He has denied all allegations against him.

The prosecution has outlined disturbing claims, including that Dott inappropriately touched the girl, encouraged her to remove her clothing, and exposed himself. In separate allegations concerning the boy, Dott is said to have made sexual remarks, intruded on him in a bathroom, and engaged in molestation.

Testimonies from the alleged victims, now adults, detail incidents that occurred when they were children. One witness recounted an incident involving Dott offering her a piggy-back ride, during which he allegedly touched her inappropriately while she was held in his arms. Another account describes Dott suggesting inappropriate games and physical contact.
