FURIA fe Shifts from Counter-Strike to VALORANT Amidst Women's Scene Challenges
28 days agoFURIA has officially announced the transition of its women's Counter-Strike team, FURIA fe, to VALORANT. This move marks a significant shift for the team, which has enjoyed a successful six-year run in the Counter-Strike scene, securing multiple titles in South America and finishing as runners-up at three ESL Impact League Finals before winning the trophy in Season 7.
The decision comes at a challenging time for the women's esports community, which has faced setbacks, particularly after the ESL Impact circuit was placed on indefinite hold at the end of 2025. This has led to several organizations parting ways with their female lineups, further fragmenting the scene.
Mayline-Joy "ASTRA" Champliaud, recognized as the best women's player of 2025, recently announced her own switch to VALORANT, citing the disintegration of the women's Counter-Strike scene and the diminishing number of upcoming tournaments as key reasons for her decision.
