BLAST Open Porto Group Stage Matchups Announced

BLAST has revealed the matchups for the group stage of the upcoming BLAST Open Porto, scheduled to take place in Copenhagen from August 26 to 31. This tournament will narrow down 16 participating teams to six, who will then advance to the playoffs at the Super Bock Arena in Porto, Portugal.

In the playoffs, 10 teams from the Esports World Cup will head to Copenhagen after competing in Paris. They will be joined by M80, Lynn Vision, 9z, and paiN, all of whom were eliminated in the group stage. Additionally, DENDELE and Inner Circle, who did not qualify through the open qualifier, complete the roster.

Group A features strong contenders including Natus Vincere, Spirit, and FURIA, with the opening match set to be between Aurora and G2. Meanwhile, Group B will see Justinas "jL" Lekavicius making his debut for Vitality, stepping in for William "mezii" Merriman, who is on paternity leave. jL's first match will be against Inner Circle.

Other notable matches in Group B include MOUZ facing 9z, Falcons taking on Lynn Vision, and FUT competing against Legacy. The structure of the tournament allows the winners of each group to move directly to the semi-finals, while the runner-ups and third-place teams will enter the quarter-finals.
