Shohei Ohtani's Return to Pitching Uncertain, but Progress Reported

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on star player Shohei Ohtani, who has not pitched since July 3 due to inflammation in his left knee. According to Roberts, Ohtani has been playing catch and could potentially throw a bullpen session in the near future.

Despite the absence of a specific timeline for Ohtani's return to the mound, the Dodgers remain optimistic about his ability to pitch again this season, especially as the playoffs approach. Ohtani's performance prior to his injury was impressive, showcasing his talent on the mound.

While Ohtani has been sidelined from pitching, he has continued to contribute as the team's designated hitter. He currently leads the Dodgers with 26 home runs, boasting a slugging percentage of .544 and an on-base percentage of .393.

Roberts mentioned that he expects Ohtani to participate in all four games of the upcoming series against the Milwaukee Brewers and will assess his condition before the Dodgers' next series against Colorado.
