Bradley Beal Re-signs with Clippers on Two-Year Deal Worth $13.2 Million

Bradley Beal has secured a new contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, agreeing to a two-year deal worth $13.2 million. The agreement includes a player option for the second year, along with a $3 million guarantee, as confirmed by Beal's agent, Mark Bartelstein, to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

The 33-year-old shooting guard was a free agent and had been rumored to be a target for the Miami Heat, but those speculations did not materialize into a serious pursuit. Beal's decision to stay with the Clippers was anticipated, with the only uncertainty revolving around the financial terms of the deal.

In the previous season, Beal played only six games, averaging 8.2 points in 20 minutes per game with a shooting percentage of 36.8% from beyond the arc. His performance in the season before that with the Phoenix Suns was more robust, where he averaged 17 points per game and boasted a true shooting percentage of 59.8%. However, his ongoing health issues have been a concern, as he has not played more than 60 games in a season since 2019.

Looking ahead, Beal is expected to share the shooting guard position with the Clippers' fifth overall draft pick, Keaton Wagler. Coach Tyronn Lue may experiment with lineups that feature both players on the court simultaneously, although the team's overall strategy may hinge on the outcome of the ongoing Kawhi Leonard trade discussions.
