Warriors Eyeing Georges Niang and Brandon Williams for Roster Additions

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly showing significant interest in acquiring forward Georges Niang and guard Brandon Williams as they look to bolster their roster for the upcoming season. In his last full season, Niang averaged a career-high 9.9 points per game and shot 40.6% from beyond the arc while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, he is primarily recognized for his catch-and-shoot skills, although he is considered a below-average defender. The Warriors have previously sought similar players, such as Omri Casspi and Otto Porter Jr., indicating that Niang could fit their mold.

In addition to Niang, the Warriors are also looking at Brandon Williams, a 26-year-old guard who averaged 13 points and 3.9 assists over 66 games with the Dallas Mavericks last season. Despite a challenging shooting performance from three-point range, advanced metrics highlight his defensive capabilities. Williams, who stands at 6-foot-1, has risen through the G League ranks after overcoming injuries during his college career.

As the Warriors aim to enhance their roster, it appears that both Niang and Williams might be vying for the same spot, particularly as the team is also interested in adding a center.
