Clippers Add 7-Foot-5 Center Jamarion Sharp to Roster

The Los Angeles Clippers have officially signed center Jamarion Sharp, who at 7-foot-5, now holds the title of the tallest active player in the NBA. Sharp surpasses notable players such as Victor Wembanyama, listed at 7-foot-4, and Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey, who stands at 7-foot-3.

Sharp, 24, had a modest collegiate career, finishing with averages of 6.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game. He played two seasons in junior college before transferring to Western Kentucky and later Ole Miss for his final three years, where he amassed a total of 354 blocks over 95 games.

After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Sharp joined the Texas Legends, the G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. His first season saw limited impact, but he improved significantly in his second year, averaging 8.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, and an impressive 4.4 blocks per game, while shooting 77% from the field. This performance earned him the Defensive Player of the Year award.

While Sharp's offensive skills are still developing, his height and shot-blocking prowess make him a potentially valuable defensive asset for the Clippers. Although his spot on the final roster is not guaranteed, his preseason performance will be closely monitored.
