37 days agoThe Esports World Cup open qualifier has progressed to the playoff stage, narrowing the field from 64 teams to 32 after a GSL group stage. The favorites advanced with relative ease, setting the stage for a competitive playoff bracket.
In the single-elimination playoff, four coveted spots in the main event are on the line. Matchups were determined through a live draw conducted by Jackson "el_jack0" Wolf and Michal Slowinski from ESL, with the process recorded by HLTV.
The draw resulted in some highly competitive pools. Notably, a bracket featuring 100 Thieves, Liquid, BC.Game, OG, FOKUS, and 1win will compete for a single spot in the main event. Another pool includes HEROIC, fnatic, EYEBALLERS, and SINNERS, all aiming for their chance to advance.
Virtus.pro, with their new roster, has shown improvement, defeating Sangal and JiJieHao to secure a playoff berth. They will face Sashi in their opening match, while Betclic, BIG, and Eternal Fire are also in the same bracket.
