Brandon Clarke's Death Ruled Accidental, Drug Mixture Found

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has ruled the death of 29-year-old basketball player Brandon Clarke as accidental. The findings were revealed in an autopsy report that indicated the presence of both heroin and cocaine in his system.

Clarke was discovered deceased in a residence near Los Angeles on May 11. Following his passing, it was reported that drug paraphernalia was located at the scene, according to a source familiar with the investigation who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the details.

Prior to his death, Clarke was under contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he had played for all seven seasons of his professional career after completing his college tenure at Gonzaga. He was set to remain with the team until the end of the 2026-27 season.

In a troubling incident about six weeks before his death, Clarke was arrested in Arkansas on multiple charges, including speeding, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
