ASTRA Shifts Focus to VALORANT Amid CS:GO Challenges

Mayline-Joy "ASTRA" Champliaud has officially announced her transition from Counter-Strike to VALORANT, driven by concerns over the declining state of women's CS and the scarcity of upcoming tournaments. This decision comes after a successful run with BIG EQUIPA, where she led the team to victory in the ESL Impact League Season 8 and earned the title of Women's Player of the Year in 2025.

Despite her accolades, the suspension of the ESL Impact circuit at the end of 2025 prompted many organizations, including BIG EQUIPA, to disband their female teams. As a result, the team paused its project in May, leaving ASTRA seeking new competitive opportunities.

In her announcement on X, ASTRA expressed her longing for practice and competition, stating, "I find myself missing practice and competition. Therefore, I made the decision to transition to Valorant and to put my focus into a growing scene."

ASTRA emphasized that her competitive aspirations remain unchanged, as she aims to compete at the highest level in VALORANT. "This wasn't an easy decision to make but I'm in a happy place, I'm very passionate and committed to what I set out to do and this is a challenge that I would love to take on," she added.
