Mac McClung Embarks on International Journey with Bàsquet Girona

Mac McClung, known for his impressive performances in the G League and his entertaining dunks during the NBA's All-Star Weekend, is transitioning to an international career. The 27-year-old guard has signed with Bàsquet Girona in Spain's Liga ACB, as announced by the club.

Despite his accolades, including two G League MVP awards and a reputation as a highlight-reel player, McClung has struggled to secure a long-term position in the NBA. He has played a total of 17 games across five NBA teams: the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers.

McClung's basketball journey began in Gate City, Virginia, where he gained attention for his mixtapes. He played college basketball at Georgetown and Texas Tech, where he was part of a Red Raiders team that reached the NCAA tournament's Round of 32 in 2021. After going undrafted, he focused on developing his skills in the G League.

In the G League, McClung made a significant impact, becoming the all-time leading scorer and earning MVP honors after averaging 31.8 points per game with the Windy City Bulls. His recent stint with the Chicago Bulls saw him averaging 6 points in limited minutes, but he showcased his potential with a season-high 13 points in his final game.

While McClung's move to Spain marks a new chapter in his career, it does not necessarily close the door on his aspirations for a lasting role in the NBA. His journey continues as he aims to make his mark overseas.
