Yankees Make Minor Moves at Trade Deadline, Fail to Address Key Needs

At just 26 years old, Ramos will enter arbitration for the first time in 2027, providing the Yankees with a controllable asset for the future. However, the cost of acquiring him was steep, as the Yankees parted with their No. 5 prospect Henry Lalane and 13th-ranked prospect Kaeden Kent, raising questions about the long-term impact of these trades.

Despite these additions, the Yankees fell short in addressing critical needs at catcher and in the bullpen. General Manager Brian Cashman had been under pressure to find help in these areas but ultimately made no moves. While the bullpen has improved with the emergence of Paul Blackburn and Brent Headrick, the team will need to rely on internal options as they move forward. The lack of significant upgrades leaves the Yankees in a precarious position as they aim to stay competitive amidst injuries to key players.
