UFC Faces $30 Million Loss from Freedom 250 Event at White House

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) experienced a significant financial setback, reporting a loss of $30 million from its Freedom 250 event, which took place at the White House in June. This exclusive event was attended by notable figures, including President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance, and celebrated 250 years of American independence.

Despite the financial losses, UFC's parent company, TKO Group Holdings, announced a revenue increase for the second quarter of 2026. The event, which was invite-only and not open to the general public, had initial costs projected to exceed $60 million. However, UFC managed to recover some of its expenses through sponsorships and media partnerships.

Andrew Schleimer, TKO Group's CFO, highlighted that the costs associated with Freedom 250 were significantly higher than usual, but they were partially mitigated by sold-out global partnerships. The event's profile contributed to the anticipated loss, which impacted UFC's overall margins.

The Freedom 250 event attracted an impressive average of 34 million viewers worldwide, making it one of the most-watched MMA events in history. Additionally, TKO Group recently secured a lucrative $7.7 billion, seven-year deal with Paramount, making it the new broadcasting home for UFC starting in 2026, with the event streamed exclusively on Paramount+.
