Tyler Glasnow Makes Successful Rehab Start with Two Scoreless Innings

Tyler Glasnow made his long-awaited return to the mound on Tuesday, participating in his first game in 80 days as part of a minor league rehab assignment. The pitcher, who is currently recovering from back spasms, took the hill for the Class-A Ontario Tower Buzzers against the Lake Elsinore Storm, a San Diego Padres affiliate.

In his two innings of work, Glasnow showcased his skills by striking out one batter and allowing no runs. He efficiently recorded six outs using just 16 pitches, which included two swinging strikes along with three groundouts, a fly out, and a pop out.

This outing marks Glasnow's first game since he was placed on the injured list following a May 6 start in Houston, which he exited after just one inning. He was subsequently moved to the 60-day injured list on June 6 as he continued to recover from his injury.

As Glasnow progresses through his rehab, the Los Angeles Dodgers' pitching rotation has seen changes. Recently, the team acquired Tarik Skubal, who will join the rotation alongside Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Meanwhile, Blake Snell is set to make his fourth rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City, with a return to the Dodgers anticipated next week.

The Dodgers are also managing the situation with Shohei Ohtani, who has not pitched since July 3 due to left knee inflammation. Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman expressed confidence in Ohtani's eventual return, stating that he expects the star pitcher to start throwing soon and be ready for October.
