Carlos Alcaraz Withdraws from Cincinnati Open Due to Wrist Injury

Carlos Alcaraz has officially withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open as he deals with an ongoing wrist injury. The world number two has not competed since he exited the Barcelona Open in April, which also led to him missing Wimbledon and the opportunity to defend his title at the French Open.

After winning the Cincinnati Open in 2025, Alcaraz was expected to return to the tournament as part of his preparations for the US Open, scheduled to begin on August 30. However, tournament organizers confirmed that the injury will prevent the 23-year-old from participating in the event that starts on August 11.

Tournament director Bob Moran expressed support for Alcaraz, stating, "We know Carlos is doing everything he can to get back to playing tournaments as soon as possible. We wish him the best with his recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to Cincinnati in the future."
