Mets Trade Reliever Huascar Brazobán to White Sox

The New York Mets have reportedly finalized a trade sending reliever Huascar Brazobán to the Chicago White Sox. In return, the Mets will receive right-handed pitchers Gabe Davis and Zach Franklin.

Gabe Davis, ranked as the White Sox's No. 18 prospect by MLB Pipeline, was a fifth-round selection in the 2025 MLB Draft. The 22-year-old started the 2026 season strong with a 2.63 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in eight starts for High-A Winston-Salem, earning a promotion to Double-A Birmingham. However, his performance at the Double-A level has been challenging, as he holds an 8.31 ERA and 1.85 WHIP across 10 starts.

Zach Franklin, 27, has been competing in Triple-A Charlotte this season. He has recorded a 1.13 WHIP with two holds and five saves in six opportunities over 33 games.

Brazobán, who joined the Mets as part of a trade with the Miami Marlins in 2024, has had a standout 2026 season, posting a 2.61 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 51.2 innings. His versatility has been key for the Mets, as he has taken on an opener role in six games while also handling high-leverage situations late in contests.
