Report – Inter Reach Verbal Agreement with Tottenham for Star Defender

Inter and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ‘reached a verbal agreement’ over the transfer of Argentine defender Cristian Romero. According to ESPN Argentina via Calciomercato, Spurs have accepted the Serie A champions’ €40 million bid for their captain.

Despite completing the signing of John Stones, who left Manchester City as a free agent at the end of last season, Inter are looking to add another center-back to Cristian Chivu’s star-studded squad. Indeed, the Nerazzurri have parted ways with three defenders this summer and must reinforce their depleted backline.

Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Stefan de Vrij are now part of the club’s history.
