Judd Trump, the world number one, has clinched his second Shanghai Masters title by defeating Kyren Wilson with a score of 11-6. This victory marks a strong start to the 2026-27 snooker season for Trump, who previously won the tournament in 2024.

In the final, Trump established a commanding lead of 7-3 after the first session. He continued to dominate by winning four out of the next seven frames, demonstrating his skill with notable breaks of 73, 62, and 67.

Despite Wilson's efforts, including a break of 103 that momentarily narrowed the gap, Trump maintained his composure. He secured the title by winning the final frame on the pink ball, further solidifying his status in the sport.

This non-ranking event is one of the most lucrative on the World Snooker Tour, with Trump earning £210,000 and Wilson taking home £105,000. The tournament featured 24 players, including the top 16 in the world rankings and several Chinese players.

Looking ahead, Trump will next compete in the China Open, the first main ranking tournament of the season, starting on August 8. He is set to face Thailand's Noppon Saengkham in the opening round, while Wilson will meet Ireland's Aaron Hill the following day.
