Malaysian Pairs Shine at Taipei Open, Advance to Semifinals

At the Taipei Open, Malaysia secured spots in both the men's and women's doubles semifinals as Aaron Chia-Aaron Tai and Pearly Tan-Thinaah Muralitharan achieved impressive victories in the quarterfinals.

Aaron and Tai, in only their second tournament together, faced a tough challenge from Chinese Taipei's Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan. After dropping the first game 15-21, they rallied back to win the next two games 21-7, 21-18, showcasing their growing synergy on the court.

In contrast, Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan, the top seeds in women's doubles, defeated Lin Chih-Chun and Yang Chu Yun in straight games, 21-14, 21-17. Their victory came after a strong performance that maintained pressure on their opponents throughout the match.

The men's singles competition saw Malaysia's Justin Hoh eliminated by South Korea's Yoo Tae Bin, ending his campaign in the quarterfinals. Hoh fought hard but ultimately lost 17-21, 18-21.

With their respective semifinal matches approaching, both Malaysian pairs will look to build on their quarterfinal successes. Aaron and Tai will face another local duo, while Pearly and Thinaah are set to meet American competitors Francesca Corbett and Jennie Gai.
