Smith's current legal situation has placed him in custody, and he is expected to appear before a judge by Friday. This development comes after his last fight in the UFC in April, where he suffered a loss to Zhang Mingyang. He also participated in a bare-knuckle boxing event later that same month.
Throughout his career, Smith has had a notable presence in the UFC, making his debut in 2016 and competing in 24 fights for the promotion. His overall mixed martial arts record stands at 39 wins and 22 losses, with his most significant bout being a title challenge against Jon Jones in 2019.
