Yankees Pitching Dominates Phillies in 3-1 Series Clinching Win

However, Weathers managed to limit the damage, striking out key batters and navigating out of several tight spots. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits while striking out seven.

The Yankees' offense found its rhythm later in the game, with Austin Wells hitting a game-tying home run in the fifth inning. The Yankees took the lead in the sixth when Cody Bellinger hit a two-out single, scoring Wells. Jasson Dominguez added insurance with a home run in the seventh, extending the lead to 3-1.

The Yankees' bullpen, featuring Angel Chivilli, Paul Blackburn, and David Bednar, maintained the lead, with Blackburn lowering his ERA to 1.93 and Bednar earning his 20th save of the season. Bellinger finished the night with two hits but was removed in the eighth inning after appearing to injure himself while running.

The Yankees and Phillies will conclude their series on Sunday night, with Will Warren set to pitch for New York against Cristopher Sanchez of Philadelphia.
