Francesca Jones, the top seed from Britain, triumphed at the Palermo Ladies Open, successfully defending her title and securing her second consecutive victory on the Challenger Tour.

In a hard-fought match, Jones defeated French player Fiona Ferro with a score of 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) after nearly two hours and 43 minutes of play. Jones dominated the first set, winning it in just 21 minutes, but Ferro made a strong comeback in the second set to level the match.

The deciding set was closely contested, culminating in a tiebreak where Ferro had a match point at 6-5 but was unable to convert. Jones seized the opportunity to claim victory, marking her fourth career win on the Challenger Tour and her second title in just over a week, following her success at the ATV Rome Open.

With this win, Jones is set to rise in the WTA rankings, moving from 113 to 110. The 25-year-old has shown remarkable form, having dropped only one set throughout the tournament, and expressed her satisfaction with the match, acknowledging the effort from both players.
