Salvador Perez Becomes Royals' All-Time Home Run Leader

In a historic moment for the Kansas City Royals, Salvador Perez hit his 318th career home run, surpassing Hall of Famer George Brett to become the franchise's all-time home run leader. This milestone was achieved during a game against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

Perez's record-breaking homer came off Tigers pitcher Kyle Finnegan and marked his 15th home run of the season. This achievement also highlights Perez's consistency, as he has reached the 15-home run mark in each of the last eleven full seasons, showcasing his prowess as a nine-time All-Star.

Since making his debut with the Royals in 2011, Perez has been a cornerstone of the franchise, signing multiple contract extensions to remain in Kansas City. He played a key role in leading the team to its 2015 World Series championship, mirroring Brett's legacy from the 1985 title run.
