Royals Fall to Tigers Despite Strong Performance from Cameron

The Kansas City Royals suffered their fifth straight one-run loss, falling 2-1 to the Detroit Tigers. The game was marked by strong pitching performances, particularly from Royals' Noah Cameron, who pitched seven impressive innings.

Cameron, who took the mound after Beck Way's rocky start, struck out eight batters while allowing only two hits and three walks. Despite his stellar performance, the Royals found themselves in an early deficit as the Tigers scored both of their runs in the first inning.

Beck Way, who was used as an opener, struggled to find his rhythm, loading the bases before recording an out. He allowed an early sacrifice fly and an RBI single to Hao-Yu Lee, putting the Royals behind before Cameron entered the game.

On the opposing side, Tarik Skubal delivered a strong performance for the Tigers, striking out 12 Royals and allowing just four hits, all of which were doubles. The Royals managed to score their only run in the fourth inning, thanks to doubles from Salvador Perez and Nick Loftin.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Royals, including Jac Caglianone's return to action as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning without any signs of discomfort. The Royals will look to bounce back in the next game, where Michael Wacha is set to face Casey Mize in hopes of splitting the series.
