Diamondbacks Adjust Roster Ahead of Athletics Matchup

In preparation for their upcoming game against the Oakland Athletics, the Arizona Diamondbacks have announced several roster adjustments. The team’s 40-man roster remains full at 40 players following these moves.

Right-handed pitcher Juan Burgos has been optioned to Triple-A Reno after his performance in the previous game. Additionally, Drey Jameson has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to right hip inflammation, retroactive to July 20.

The Diamondbacks are also set to see another player make their major league debut, bringing the total to seven this season. The latest addition, pitcher Drake, was acquired from the Texas Rangers in a trade for Merrill Kelly. Despite struggling in Reno with a 6.92 ERA across 16 starts, he demonstrated potential with a strong outing in his last game, where he pitched five shutout innings.

With Jameson sidelined, Gerardo Carillo may have the opportunity to step in as the eighth debutant for the Diamondbacks this season. As the team looks to strengthen their roster, they remain focused on their performance against the Athletics.
