A's Rookie Kuroda-Grauer Lands on Injured List After Surgery

The Oakland Athletics have announced that rookie infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer has been placed on the 10-day injured list following surgery for a ruptured testicle. The injury occurred during the Athletics' recent 5-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 20.

Kuroda-Grauer suffered the injury when he fouled off a pitch in the fifth inning, resulting in an unfortunate ricochet. Despite the pain, he managed to recover and hit a line drive for a base hit before being replaced defensively in the seventh inning.

The young player finished the game with a batting line of 2-for-3, which included his first career home run, raising his batting average to .417. However, he did not return to the field after the injury.

Following the incident, Kuroda-Grauer underwent emergency surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix and is reported to be resting comfortably, according to the team's statement.

Since making his major league debut on June 29, Kuroda-Grauer has shown promise with eight multiple-hit games in just 16 appearances, indicating a bright future for the rookie.
