Yaxel Lendeborg Takes MVP Honors at NBA Summer League

The NBA Summer League showcased significant talent this year, particularly following a strong NBA Draft. The league announced its MVP and All-Summer League teams, highlighting impressive performances from several players.

Yaxel Lendeborg, who averaged 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, earned the MVP title after a standout championship game where he led the Golden State Warriors to victory over Cameron Boozer's Memphis Grizzlies. This recognition comes shortly after Lendeborg helped Michigan secure an NCAA championship.

Cameron Boozer, who averaged 18.5 points and 8 rebounds per game, was also recognized for his consistent performance and earned a spot on the All-Summer League first team. Joining him was Caleb Wilson, a rookie for the Chicago Bulls, who made headlines with his impressive scoring average of 23.5 points and 41.9% shooting from beyond the arc.

Other players named to the first team include Brayden Burries from the Milwaukee Bucks and Meleek Thomas from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both had standout performances, contributing significantly to their teams' success during the league.

Notably, the top two picks from the recent draft, AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson, did not make the All-Summer League teams due to limited playing time, despite putting up impressive numbers in their brief appearances. Dybantsa was sidelined after just two games, while Peterson played three before being shut down.
